My sister and I love sleep tees! (See here and here). I live in these Victoria’s Secret ones and have a whole dresser drawer filled. In the winter I switch to the long sleeve version and stay warm with leg warmers or knee socks. I usually wait until I have an Angel Reward and then buy 2 for $49.50. I saw the ones above (all under $27) while browsing the other day and thought I would share since they are both cute and a great price. Once you try them, you will never go back to pajamas!

After buying these three pairs last summer, espadrilles quickly became my favorite summer shoe. This year, I added the black lace-up ones pictured above and these, which are really comfy, to my collection. Soludos is definitely the go to brand for espadrilles, but a lot of the styles above are on sale (all are between $18 – $35) and just as cute. I have my eye on the pink sandals. I love the slip on espadrilles for running around during the day and find myself wearing the lace-up ones with little summer dresses to church, or dinner or to the winery on girls night out. : ) Do you own a pair of espadrilles? What do you like to wear them with?

Is there anything more summer than ice cream? I’ll never forget the week I spent on Kiawah Island with my family. We had ice cream every night. We tried a different creamery each night. My favorite was called Beaches and Cream. :) Above, I rounded up a few gifts for the ice cream lovers in your life. A few of these would make a cute summer birthday gift and others would be perfect for a hostess gift.

As mentioned once or twice, ;*) the Fourth of July is my favorite holiday! I don’t make a special treat every year – last year I made a centerpiece and in years past I’ve made decorations – but when I found these popsicles on Pinterest I couldn’t resist! My mom helped me with the strawberry ones and I handled the blueberry on my own the next day. I have yet to try a blueberry but I taste tested a strawberry and it was delicious! They were not difficult to make at all!

You can find the strawberry cheesecake popsicle recipe here. Thanks Jackie!

Follow this link to the blueberry cheesecake popsicle recipe. Thanks Arlene!

Happy Fourth of July everyone! : )

trend report: tassels

tasselsnecklace

short | romper | skort and tank | romper

shorts | top | clutch

tunic | sandal | skirt | dress

Something I’ve noticed this summer? Tassels! They are on everything! From beach wear and rompers to necklaces and handbags, tassels are definitely “trending.” I’ve embraced the trend in my casual wear. I have a few cover ups and daytime dresses adorned with the tiny feature but I really like the matching skort and tank set, shown above. I’ll be keeping my eye out for ways to incorporate the trend in a more formal fashion.

P.S. Can you tell I’m excited about the fourth? : ) Everything on this collage is red, white, and blue! Believe it or not, that was not on purpose!

p.s. i love red, white & blue

red white and blue

red: skater dress, trapeze dressstripe espadrille

white: fit & flare dress, high top sneaker, eyelet romper, lace sandal, lace skirt

blue: romper (also in white), chambray shirt (sleeveless version here), sweater (another version here), cutoff shorts

Omgoodness, I haven’t blogged in so long! Leave it to my favorite holiday to bring me back from my blogging break. This fourth of July is making me a little sad though as I won’t be spending it with both my sisters. :*( Without intentionally coordinating, my sisters and I never show up in the same color – one of us is in red, one in white, and the other in blue and it makes for the best picture. P.S. Don’t we have the best colors/flag? :*) Last year, I splurged on these sandals and you can bet I’ll be wearing them again this year.

I usually opt for a dress but when I found these shorts and this shirt last year, I couldn’t resist. I also went to a picnic on the fifth so I got to wear two fourth of July outfits. : ) I sized way up in this sweater and wore it as a dress!

This year, I’m going with a romper. I think one of the reasons why I love the fourth of July is because it is always super easy to find something to wear! There are so many cute summer dresses and rompers everywhere. I always look for something comfy and bring a jean jacket or sweater to throw on at the end of the night when it cools off. What will you be wearing this fourth of July?

It has been raining here nonstop. I am hoping that all of the April showers will bring the May flowers we are desperately in need of, but until then, I will have to settle for flowers on my rainboots. I am trying my best to convince myself that I don’t need three pairs of rainboots, but I don’t know if I will be able to hold out much longer. These ones are at the top of my spring wish list. They even have a matching raincoat. <3 Joules is my go to for rainboots; they always have the cutest patterns. I thought I would roundup a few fun spring prints to choose from – lots of floral print and lots of pink! ; )

I am finally sharing some birthday photos! My birthday was February 11 and I had the best day, as always, thanks to my family. : )

my favorites: 2015 academy awards

oscars

Did you watch the Oscars last night? My favorite part is, of course, the fashion. I was a little disappointed because the red carpet was almost over and I hadn’t seen any gowns that I loved. Then, I saw Gwyneth Palthrow’s dress. It was love at first sight. From the color to the fit to the styling, it was pure perfection – so feminine and simply stunning. When Jennifer Lopez showed up the first word that came to mind was “princess.” I’m sure it had something to do with the ballgown covered in pearls, stones, and sequins, and the way she seemed to float down the red carpet, but I also loved her long, wavy pony tail. I was waiting all night for Reese to appear – she is my favorite. This look reminded me so much of her 2011 Oscars look, which I also loved. Obviously, she went with a black and white color scheme again, but her hairstyle and jewelry are also similar. I loved her hair in 2011! I feel like this was a little more “grown up” version. I would probably include Reese on my list no matter what she was wearing because she always seems to be smiling. As previously mentioned, I have a thing for long-sleeved dresses and Chrissy Teigen’s was no exception. The pale blue color was so pretty and the jewel embellishments made her sparkle like an ice queen. I am definitely not a “red” girl but I just think Rosamund Pike is gorgeous. While this isn’t a dress I would choose to wear – mainly because of the color – I thought Rosamund looked beautiful. The fit was flawless and I love that she kept her look simple and clean. With her hair off of her face, she looked fresh and naturally beautiful.

the look for less

the look for less

Chloe Flat | Lauren Conrad Flats

Bionda Castana Pumps | Steve Madden Pumps

Aquazzura Flat | Rock & Republic Flats

Have you ever followed a link to the cutest pair of shoes only to find that they are over half your paycheck? This happens way too often. My sister is always sending me pictures of items she loves just in case I find “the look for less” while browsing. I don’t mind playing stylist one bit. In fact, I am thrilled when I get to text her back with another, more affordable option. She saw the first two pairs of shoes on two of our everyone’s favorite blogs, Sincerely Jules and Song of Style. As soon as I saw that the pretty scalloped flats were Chloe, I began searching for a look-a-like pair. (Thank you, Lauren Conrad!) Even if the snakeskin pumps weren’t sold out, they are just a tad over my budget, but the similar pair I found is on sale! The last pair, which I am trying to refrain from purchasing, is pretty much an identical match! I don’t really need a pair of black flats… but they are on sale. What to do… what to do : )

P.S. I love using ShopStyle when searching for something specific. Do you have a go to website that helps you find what you’re looking for? I’d love to know about it! : )
