After buying these three pairs last summer, espadrilles quickly became my favorite summer shoe. This year, I added the black lace-up ones pictured above and these, which are really comfy, to my collection. Soludos is definitely the go to brand for espadrilles, but a lot of the styles above are on sale (all are between $18 – $35) and just as cute. I have my eye on the pink sandals. I love the slip on espadrilles for running around during the day and find myself wearing the lace-up ones with little summer dresses to church, or dinner or to the winery on girls night out. : ) Do you own a pair of espadrilles? What do you like to wear them with?
Something I’ve noticed this summer? Tassels! They are on everything! From beach wear and rompers to necklaces and handbags, tassels are definitely “trending.” I’ve embraced the trend in my casual wear. I have a few cover ups and daytime dresses adorned with the tiny feature but I really like the matching skort and tank set, shown above. I’ll be keeping my eye out for ways to incorporate the trend in a more formal fashion.
P.S. Can you tell I’m excited about the fourth? : ) Everything on this collage is red, white, and blue! Believe it or not, that was not on purpose!
Omgoodness, I haven’t blogged in so long! Leave it to my favorite holiday to bring me back from my blogging break. This fourth of July is making me a little sad though as I won’t be spending it with both my sisters. :*( Without intentionally coordinating, my sisters and I never show up in the same color – one of us is in red, one in white, and the other in blue and it makes for the best picture. P.S. Don’t we have the best colors/flag? :*) Last year, I splurged on these sandals and you can bet I’ll be wearing them again this year.
I usually opt for a dress but when I found these shorts and this shirt last year, I couldn’t resist. I also went to a picnic on the fifth so I got to wear two fourth of July outfits. : ) I sized way up in this sweater and wore it as a dress!
This year, I’m going with a romper. I think one of the reasons why I love the fourth of July is because it is always super easy to find something to wear! There are so many cute summer dresses and rompers everywhere. I always look for something comfy and bring a jean jacket or sweater to throw on at the end of the night when it cools off. What will you be wearing this fourth of July?
Did you watch the Oscars last night? My favorite part is, of course, the fashion. I was a little disappointed because the red carpet was almost over and I hadn’t seen any gowns that I loved. Then, I saw Gwyneth Palthrow’s dress. It was love at first sight. From the color to the fit to the styling, it was pure perfection – so feminine and simply stunning. When Jennifer Lopez showed up the first word that came to mind was “princess.” I’m sure it had something to do with the ballgown covered in pearls, stones, and sequins, and the way she seemed to float down the red carpet, but I also loved her long, wavy pony tail. I was waiting all night for Reese to appear – she is my favorite. This look reminded me so much of her 2011 Oscars look, which I also loved. Obviously, she went with a black and white color scheme again, but her hairstyle and jewelry are also similar. I loved her hair in 2011! I feel like this was a little more “grown up” version. I would probably include Reese on my list no matter what she was wearing because she always seems to be smiling. As previously mentioned, I have a thing for long-sleeved dresses and Chrissy Teigen’s was no exception. The pale blue color was so pretty and the jewel embellishments made her sparkle like an ice queen. I am definitely not a “red” girl but I just think Rosamund Pike is gorgeous. While this isn’t a dress I would choose to wear – mainly because of the color – I thought Rosamund looked beautiful. The fit was flawless and I love that she kept her look simple and clean. With her hair off of her face, she looked fresh and naturally beautiful.
Have you ever followed a link to the cutest pair of shoes only to find that they are over half your paycheck? This happens way too often. My sister is always sending me pictures of items she loves just in case I find “the look for less” while browsing. I don’t mind playing stylist one bit. In fact, I am thrilled when I get to text her back with another, more affordable option. She saw the first two pairs of shoes on two of
our everyone’s favorite blogs, Sincerely Jules and Song of Style. As soon as I saw that the pretty scalloped flats were Chloe, I began searching for a look-a-like pair. (Thank you, Lauren Conrad!) Even if the snakeskin pumps weren’t sold out, they are just a tad over my budget, but the similar pair I found is on sale! The last pair, which I am trying to refrain from purchasing, is pretty much an identical match! I don’t really need a pair of black flats… but they are on sale. What to do… what to do : )
P.S. I love using ShopStyle when searching for something specific. Do you have a go to website that helps you find what you’re looking for? I’d love to know about it! : )
With a February birthday, I always try to keep in mind that winter is far from over when putting together a birthday wishlist. I love getting a few new things to last me through the next couple of months. Plus, winter wear is usually on sale during this time of year (like this coat). The cape and scarf on this list both look cozy and are sure to keep me warm until spring. I also like to put some of my favorite spring pieces on my birthday wishlist – the ones I’m afraid will sell out quickly (like this dress). Even though I have to wait a while to wear them, it gives me something to look forward to. When is your birthday?
Above are my favorite looks from last night’s Golden Globes. I loved Emma Stone’s pantsuit because it was different than what everyone else was wearing. I really liked Reese Witherspoon’s side swept hair and her dress fit her flawlessly. Quvenzhane Wallace’s dress was too perfect. She looked youthful and elegant. I think everyone loved Sienna Miller’s look. From the dress to the hair to the earrings and accessories, this look was styled to perfection and very on trend. Finally, I think my favorite dress from the Golden Globe’s was Chrissy Teigen’s. I tend to prefer light colored dresses over darker ones and any time a dress has long sleeves, it usually makes my list. (See here, here and here). Something else I love – wearing a pony tail with a dress. (Blake Lively masters this look). Which look was your favorite?

I have been wearing my rainboots everyday lately! If there is the slightest chance of rain or if it’s a little bit wet out from the melted snow, I slip them on. It could also be because I found the perfect jacket to match my mine. : ) I usually pair my rainboots with leggings, a long sweater, and a plaid blanket scarf. I was browsing pinterest for some other ideas and thought I would share what I found.
Do you own a pair of rainboots? If so, how do you style them? If you have suggestions, leave them below. : )
The holidays are the perfect time to shine. Although I believe sequins can be worn on birthdays (I wore this outfit on my birthday in February and everything I have on is now sold out, except the leggings) and really, any day that you want to add a little sparkle, there are always lots of shiny options out during this time of year. I have rounded up some of my favorites for you above.

One of the reasons I love fall so much is because there is so much to do! Spending an afternoon at the apple orchard is a must on my fall to do list each year. We went to Huffman Fruit Farm the second weekend of October when the weather was still really nice. It was the perfect way to spend an autumn afternoon. I remember my blanket scarf had just arrived and I was so excited to wear it. I haven’t been seen without it since. Although the one I’m wearing is sold out, there are plenty of other options. I think a blanket scarf would make the perfect Christmas gift, which is why you’ll see it on one of my holiday gift guides later this month. : )
